The Bodies of the Subject, the Body of the Individual

This workshop will explore the question: what is the body for psychoanalysis. It will explore the thesis that the act of thinking of oneself as ‘having’ or ‘being’ a body does not accord well with a) the division between the bodies of the Subject as registered in the Real, Symbolic and Imaginary orders (as conceived by Lacan) nor with b) the reality of the body of each individual which perseveres  as a cohesive unit in our being despite the way the unconscious divides the bodies of the individual (as conceived by Freud).
